About the role

We are looking for an Environmental Supervisor to support our Environmental Project Officer in the day to day running of the lab and delivery of specialist work. We are a busy lab, which includes our core team, volunteers and interns. We are looking for someone with extensive experience of sample processing, meeting high standards of work and deadlines. The supervisor role includes ensuring the Team's deadlines are met, processing and sorting of samples is accurate, alongside data management, maintenance of storage, and preparing material to go to specialists. Good communication skills and team working are crucial for this role, especially as you will be supporting others and their development. Knowledge of health and safety standards is necessary to ensure the implementation of safe working practices. Good IT skills, especially in Excel, are necessary. We are looking for someone with a specialism in archaeobotany (other environmental specialisms will be considered) with demonstrable experience of report writing to support the Project officer in the delivery of specialist work.

 

About you

Good communication skills and team working are crucial for this role. We are looking for someone with extensive experience of sample processing and who understands the complexities that can arise when dealing with archaeological samples. Good IT skills, especially in Excel, are necessary. A specialism in palaeoenvironmental archaeology and demonstrable experience of report writing will be beneficial.
