About the role

Are you a recent Law graduate looking to gain valuable hands-on legal experience before pursuing a career as a solicitor, barrister, paralegal or legal professional?

Leicester Law School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Intern to join the Legal Advice Clinic. This exciting opportunity offers practical experience in a client-facing legal environment, working alongside qualified solicitors, student volunteers and community partners.

As part of the role, you will support the delivery of legal advice and pro bono activities, assist with community outreach projects, undertake supervised client work and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Clinic. You will also gain invaluable experience of law clinic operations, legal administration, client engagement and project support.

The role provides extensive training, supervision and professional development, making it an ideal stepping stone for graduates considering training contracts, pupillages or other legal careers.

About you

We are looking for a recent graduate (2025 or 2026) with an LLB Law degree who is passionate about access to justice and supporting members of the community.

You will have experience of university law clinic work or legal pro bono activities and be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written English and attention to detail.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A flexible and collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students and external stakeholders.

Most importantly, you will be committed to delivering a high-quality service, supporting student volunteers and contributing positively to the University's inclusive and impactful community.
