About the role

This is a truly exciting time to join the University of Leicester.

We are proud to be one of the first universities in the UK to roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot across our community, placing us at the forefront of AI-enabled transformation in higher education. Through this partnership, we are reimagining how staff and students experience digital services, unlocking new ways of working, improving decision-making, and delivering real impact at scale.

Alongside our AI ambitions, we are delivering an ambitious programme of digital transformation across our core business services. To support this journey, we are looking for a talented Service Design Analyst to help shape the future of our digital products, services and processes.

Working closely with colleagues across academic and professional services, you will discover user needs, analyse business processes, and help design services that deliver better outcomes for staff and students. You will facilitate workshops, capture and define requirements, support solution design, and play a key role in testing, implementation and business change activities.

You will work across a varied portfolio of initiatives, including digital process improvement, service redesign, automation opportunities, and enterprise systems transformation.

About you

We're looking for someone who can combine strong analytical skills with a passion for designing better services and business processes.

You will bring:

  • Experience in Business Analysis, Service Design, Process Improvement or Digital Transformation.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience eliciting, documenting and managing business and functional requirements.
  • The ability to analyse complex processes and design effective future-state solutions.
  • Experience supporting testing, implementation and adoption activities.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.

Desirable Experience

We would be particularly interested in candidates with experience of:

  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate and Copilot Studio).
  • Low-code process automation and digital workflow solutions.
  • Agile, Lean, Continuous Improvement or Service Design methodologies.
  • Working within large, complex organisations such as Higher Education, Healthcare or the Public Sector.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking Digital Services team delivering meaningful change across the University. You'll work with innovative technologies, help shape strategic digital initiatives, and contribute to improving the experience of thousands of staff and students.

Join us and help transform how digital services are designed and delivered at the University of Leicester.
