About the role

The School of Healthcare at the University of Leicester is seeking an experienced and motivated diagnostic radiographer to join our newly established Healthcare Foundation Programme. This exciting teaching-focused opportunity will play a key role in shaping an innovative foundation year that supports progression into Nursing, Midwifery, Radiography and Operating Department Practice programmes. Working within a vibrant and expanding School, you will contribute to the University’s commitment to research-inspired education by delivering high-quality teaching, providing effective assessment and feedback, and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

You will contribute to curriculum development, educational leadership and student support activities while helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. The role offers opportunities to develop pedagogic scholarship, work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, and contribute to outreach, employability and public engagement activities. As part of a School that works closely with health and social care partners and is committed to innovative, authentic learning experiences, you will help prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals for successful careers.

About you

You will be a HCPC-registered diagnostic radiographer (or equivalent) with a degree in Radiography and substantial clinical experience. You will have a successful track record of teaching in higher education, with evidence of excellent student outcomes, leadership in learning and teaching, and a commitment to continually enhancing educational practice. Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals whose expertise will complement and strengthen the existing provision within the School.

You will possess excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion is essential, alongside a passion for supporting student development and delivering an outstanding educational experience. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or a willingness to achieve an appropriate teaching qualification within an agreed timeframe, is required.
