About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the NIHR Policy Research Unit on Cancer Awareness, Screening and Early DiagnosisThe appointed individual will join the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Leicester and help deliver the Leicester-led elements of the program of research and contribute widely to the collaborative research across the Unit. This role will involve analysing NHS data to improve early diagnosis and guide interventions for the earlier detection of cancer with the view to improving cancer survival.

About you

As the successful applicant, you will have a PhD in a relevant area (e.g. Biostatistics/Medical Statistics/Epidemiology) as well as experience in advanced statistical modelling techniques including in the area of survival analysis.

You will have excellent biostatistical skills as well as effective interpersonal skills and work successfully alongside a team to deliver the research aims.

You will have the ability to produce research outputs that are internationally recognised and of a quality aspiring to be world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour in time for the next REF cycle (2029) and help to deliver policy-relevant research in the space of ensuring earlier cancer diagnosis.
