About the role
Creative Computing is an innovative new programme which typifies this transformation. It is highly transdisciplinary, combining creativity, computing and business in roughly equal measure. We are located in the Department of Informatics but draw upon contributions from across the university. We are seeking to appoint two new lecturers to join the team led by Founding Professor Andrew Hugill. The 2019/20 academic year will see the first intake of undergraduates to the new BA/BSc in Creative Computing. You will therefore have a formative role in the launch of this exciting programme. At the same time, they will develop research in areas that build upon the existing work being undertaken.
About you
We will consider all candidates whose research and teaching focuses on an aspect of Creative Computing, but we are especially interested in:

Computer Games, for example focusing on:
● Games Design
● Games Technologies
● Gamification
● Serious Gaming
● Game Art
● Games Broadcasting
● AI and Games

Experience or potential in one or more of the following areas is desirable
● Applications of AI in the creative sector;
● Modern software development processes, such as agile;
● Entrepreneurial skills and links with the wider creative technologies sector;
● Knowledge of emerging technologies and future-oriented thinking.

You will be expected to have skills in computer programming. Research excellence is key, but the role also includes the development and delivery of teaching in the respective areas as well as contributions to the administration and management of the programme. University of Leicester is a research-intensive university. Different areas of activity are balanced by a departmental workload model to ensure fair and transparent balance between staff and different areas of activity
