About the role
We are seeking to appoint an academic with outstanding potential and with particular expertise within the broad field of policing. We are especially interested in candidates who can add to existing strengths within the Department of Criminology, and who can help to shape innovative policing-related undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will have a teaching-focused role and will work as part of a team in delivering our new BSc Policing degree, in addition to undertaking relevant teaching-related activities which align with their areas of expertise on our suite of other programmes. We are particularly interested in applications from scholars who can lead, innovate and generate an outstanding student experience as part of our policing team at the Department of Criminology.
 
Leicester is one of the very few universities in the country which is dedicated to teaching and researching criminology. We are a first point of contact for journalists needing information and advice on crime issues, and are regularly called upon by national and local governments to assist with policy development.

About you
You will have a proven profile of teaching and a proven record of experience in higher education. You will have a commitment to high quality teaching within the field of policing and to the ensuring that our students receive the best possible experience with us. Though not essential, you may also have experience of teaching modules related to policing and criminal justice as well as experience of supervising PhD students.
