About the role
The successful applicant will play a key part in delivering grant milestones and have responsibility for coordinating and undertaking histological analysis of cancer biomarkers in mesothelioma. This will involve multiple techniques including immunohistochemistrry and multiplex immunofluorescence analysis.

Excellent communication skills will be needed to enable effective interactions with clinical, academic and postdoctoral Scientists, other technicians and pathologists. In addition this role will support research ethics submissions, research grant applications, reports and pubished manuscripts.

You will work independently and under your own initiative to plan and organise lab work, maintaining the flexibility to deal with unexpected delays. This is post is funded by Asthma and Lung UK.  
About you
The successful candidate will have a technical or scientific education to ONC or NVQ3 level, ideally with a degree level qualification in a life sciences subject. You must have experience of working in a quality-managed environment, with knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and health and safety regulations and procedures. Proven experience in undertaking histological techniques working with human tissues is required, and the training in the consent process would be desirable.
