About the role
The Estates and Campus Services Department are looking to recruit a Security Patrol Officer to join the Security Team. The purpose of this role is to deliver an excellent customer focused security service to university staff, students, visitors and other external services.
As a Security Patrol Officer you will provide visible patrols of the University buildings and Estate to reassure staff, students and visitors and deter criminal activity and antisocial behaviour, including Main Campus and Accommodation. With the support of Control Room colleagues and the relevant escalation process, you will provide the first response to incidents that may require a dynamic risk assessments and need to adapt responses to the individual case.
About you
As an ideal candidate you will have excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable interacting with a range of staff, students and visitors. You will have knowledge of Microsoft Office products and demonstrate the ability to assimilate information and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
You will show an understanding of diversity and quality issues and seek to improve the security service where possible.
You will have previous experience working as part of a team to achieve common goals and targets. You will have experience following a series of set standard procedures and processes to provide a safe, secure environment, deterring criminal activity and anti-social behaviour.
