About the role

The University is in the process of delivering on a new digital strategy which focuses on digital being at the core of all the things we do. To deliver on this we are looking for an Security Operations Analyst who will be responsible for the smooth, efficient and secure operation of the technology that protects our network and applications. This includes the operational responsibility for a suite of services including the day-to-day management of the University’s enterprise firewalling.

You will work with internal and external contacts to assist in proactive maintenance, testing and auditing of our key services. You will get to build positive relationships with developers, infrastructure, applications and governance colleagues within IT Services to support these changes. 

The role will also support the IT Security Specialist in operationalising a security framework for the University as well as in providing design review and assessment against best practise of systems developed and / or acquired within projects. 

About you
You will have significant experience of working with complex networks in a large organisation along with experience of firewall security implementation. This should be complemented by an understanding of network configuration such as DHCP, NTP, DNS, etc. 
 
Having excellent communication skills is essential, along with the ability to plan and prioritise your own work. You should be customer focus and be driven to deliver high standards. 
 
You will have developed analytical skills with the ability to solve problems independently.
