About the role

The School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences provides a rich and culturally diverse environment where both students and staff can thrive in a demanding yet cooperative and friendly atmosphere. The school has research links with Space Park Leicester, the Leicester Institute for Precision Medicine and the Department of Genetics & Genome Biology at the University of Leicester, and is a founding member of the College of Science and Engineering’s Centre for AI, Data Analytics and Modelling.

We are seeking an Associate Professor to join the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences to support our delivery of high-quality teaching and research, contributing to the research profile of the School in mathematical and computational modelling, statistics, Artificial Intelligence, data science, or other areas consistent with our existing strengths and future ambitions. You will be expected to undertake teaching, tutoring, and project supervision across a range of mathematics and statistics courses as well as supporting the development of new programmes and courses in mathematics.

About you

With a PhD and an established international reputation as a scholar, you will be able to demonstrate research and teaching achievement in your field of expertise. You will be able to evidence this through external grant capture, publications in peer reviewed journals and other relevant outputs, with a clear forward plan for your research that complements the existing specialisms within the school.

With a track record of training and mentoring research students and experience of building effective collaborative relationships, you will have a commitment to high quality teaching, ensuring our students get the best experience possible.
