About the role
We are seeking a high calibre scientist with a research profile of international standing to join the Leicester Cancer Research Centre, within the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology to conduct high quality research and teaching in the field of cancer immunology and prevention, focussing on developing agents which prevent cancer and understanding the mechanisms underlying their effects.  There is also a major emphasis on developing new biomarkers which can indicate the clinical effectiveness of these agents in trials and aid preclinical discovery.

Your research will support strategic priorities in the Leicester Cancer Research Centre and wider Department. In addition, the respiratory speciality is joined by experts in infectious diseases.   Our overall purpose is to translate scientific breakthroughs in these areas into diagnostic tests, preventions and life-saving treatments for our patients. We do this by creating a collaborative workspace that allows scientists and clinicians to share their findings and deliver research that is relevant to both patients and the professionals who treat them.
About you
We are looking for an established researcher, with a high quality publication profile in cancer immunology or more general immunology with a strong interest in cancer and potentially fundable research ideas.
