About the role
In this role, will be an integral part of the School’s continued excellence and innovation in both research and teaching. You will be working as a senior member of the Research Centre for Museums and Galleries (RCMG) on team-based, externally funded research and highly impactful projects in line with the Centre’s vision – to carry out research that stimulates new thinking and creative practice and enables cultural organisations to become more ambitious and impactful in nurturing more equitable and inclusive societies.

You will initiate and develop research projects and secure funding for new projects; manage budgets and contracts; create learning resources from research to support teaching; and generate and capture impact. You will contribute to and further enhance the profile of the Centre, the School and the University. You will be responsible to the Director of RCMG.
About you
With a demonstrable track record in research, you will have experience of socially engaged research and practice. A range of research skills is key, predominantly using qualititative methods but quantitative methods and approaches are welcome. You will have experience of managing budgets, as well as of securing research funding which has significant impact. We are looking for a self-starter who has experience of presenting research findings and disseminating them to museum professionals, engaging policy makers, academics and agencies beyond the cultural sector.
