About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join IT Services at the University of Leicester as our Head of Workplace Technology Services.

In this newly changed role you will provide strategic leadership for the teams responsible for the design, development and delivery of workplace technologies within the University, to all our staff and students. These range from the desktop PCs, laptops and tablets used by our staff; the student PC labs that support teaching and learning activities for our teachers and learners; and the full range of IT and AV services that enable our lecture theatres, seminar rooms and other meeting spaces.

You will ensure we develop the vision needed to ensure that these facilitate the University’s wider digital ambitions and strategy, identifying potential developments (whether projects or smaller, more focused changes), creating the business case for them and then with approval, ensuring they are implemented and deliver the benefits expected. You will also use your experience to foster operational excellence and customer focus across the teams that report to you, embedding a culture of continuous service improvement and staff development.
About you

Having experience in a leadership or management role, you will also have substantial experience of service design and development, and of delivering support services to users.

Ideally you will have experienced a wide range of technological services and experience of exploiting Integrated Service Management toolsets.
