About the role
We are recruiting for a full time Deputy Team Leader to join our Portering and Cleaning Services in Estates and Campus Services on a permanent basis.
 
You will play a key role in providing support to the Portering and Cleaning Services (PACS) Management Team in the delivery of a portering service across the University estate. The main responsibility of this role will be to lead a team of Porters to deliver quality and timely services in support of staff and students across the whole of the University.
 
Ensure all duties performed by self or others within team are carried out with due regard to University or departmental policies such as Health and Safety Risk/COSHH assessments, Harassment, Race Equality, Data Protection and respecting confidentiality. To present a positive image of the University and the Estates Office to all customers. Reporting faults or concerns to the line manager as necessary. Complying with relevant risk assessments or other health and safety documentation for role.
About you
 You will have a good interpersonal skills and assist the Team Leader by instructing and motivating team members and provide the team with sufficient information to understand objectives and deliver the service. You will have good verbal and written communication skills and have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products to produce reports for the PACS Management Team.
 
You will be able to work independently while supporting the wider team by prioritising your own and others workloads. You will be able to display initiative by identifying problems and resolving where able to ensure the delivery of a high quality service.
 
You will have knowledge of Health and Safety issues including the preparation and use of Risk and COSHH assessments to ensure all duties performed by yourself and others within the team are carried out with due regard to University or departmental policies.
