About the role
The Division of Biomedical Services, University of Leicester is a state-of-the-art small animal facility that supports biomedical and translation research in the College of Life Sciences. The Division is seeking Deputy Facility Manager to be involved in day to day operational management of the facility and deliver technical and scientific procedural support and all aspects of animal care and welfare. The facility primarily consists of rodents and fish and carries a wide variety of interesting pre-clinical work including breeding of genetically modified animals, testing of new treatments for human diseases, surgical work, gene editing and embryo/sperm cryopreservation.
About you
With substantial experience of working with animals in a scientific environment you will have a detailed knowledge of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and a thorough understanding of other relevant legislation. You will have Home Office License Modules 1-3  and ideally be NACWO trained. 
You must have excellent organisation skills, able to manage your own and others' time to ensure all services are delivered to a high standard. Experience of managing a team would be beneficial.
