About the role
The National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) is a distributed research centre with over 100 scientists from both Universities and research organisations in the UK. Hosted by the University of Leicester, the NCEO`s purpose is to provide long-term strategic research in environmental science using data from satellites in space. 

As part of the NCEO`s commitment to embed socially responsibility into our everyday working practices, the NCEO is looking to appoint a Social Responsibility Coordinator to support and implement ways of working to improve Equality, Diversion and Inclusion (EDI) across the Centre.

The post-holder will devise and implement a 12-month action plan based on the recently commissioned EDI report. The role will create and implement a calendar of events for 2022, facilitate the creation of a new recruitment policy as well as researching and developing resources to share internally and externally.

We are looking for someone who has an interest in social responsibility, has strong communication skills and a flair for bold initiatives.
About you
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with a strong interest in social responsibility and the promotion of STEM subjects. You'll be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, being able to work comfortably both in a team and independently. You will be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritising your own workload to deal with urgent tasks, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
