About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to continue your nursery nursing career in our highly popular and ambitious nursery at the University of Leicester
 
In this varied role, you will learn on the job, providing the best possible care and education to the children to promote health, growth and development and to ensure that they achieve the best possible start in life.
 
You will achieve this through:
 
Providing a happy, safe, secure and stimulating environment in which the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and psychological development of the children is taken into account.
Encouraging the children to develop and maintain their own individuality and independence within supportive group care.
Providing appropriate resources, activities and play experiences for all areas of learning and development.
Keeping records of the children’s development.
Ensuring the nursery is safe, clean and tidy at all times.
Contributing to regular staff meetings.
Taking reasonable care of yourself and others and complying with Health and Safety policies at all times
Reporting injuries or accidents as soon as they happen.
Ensuring that all statutory requirements are maintained.
Taking a lead in the observation, assessment and planning for the children and supporting other staff in developing this area.
Liaising with parents and carers
Engaging with outside agencies where necessary ( for example-Ofsted, Leicester City Council Early Years team, specialists such as health visitors, speech therapists)
Organising and prioritising your own workload.
Dealing promptly with unscheduled work/issues and prioritise accordingly.
Keeping records of the children’s development.

You will be supporting University staff and students by providing the essential childcare they need whilst they work and study.
