About the role
Established in 1948 our counselling service was one of the first for a University in the UK and we have a heritage of pioneering Student Wellbeing. Working from both home and campus, you will provide a coordinated case management support structure for identified students along with giving expert advice for a range of individual cases. You will ensure that actions are implemented in a timely and appropriate way, that the University's duty of care is fully considered and that the student is supported from initial outreach contact, potential discloser to disciplinary action if required.

As part of our Awareness and Prevention work, you will also be proactively working with students and staff to promote the services available through a variety of awareness sessions.

About you

As the ideal candidate, you will be educated to a degree level or equivalent or have significant experience in a directly comparable role. You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of supporting individuals combined with in-depth understanding of needs of a diverse student population and possess significant experience of networking, relationship management and collaborative working with stakeholders. The ability to apply independent judgement and use own professional expertise is essential.

The University is rich in the diversity of our students and we particularly welcome candidates from the BAME community.
