About the role

In this role you will support staff and students in the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences to complete grant applications and set up and run research projects. You will use your in depth knowledge and understanding of clinical trial management to provide guidance to Chief Investigators across the department, with particular emphasis on governance oversight to ensure the highest standards of research governance. You will provide leadership and trial management expertise to maintain the smooth and effective running of the clinical trials and research studies in accordance with the study protocols, ethics and regulatory approvals, SOPs, GCP principles, EU Directives and UK legislation.

You will be a proactive member of the wider team, working closely with NHS clinical and academic staff as well as having line management responsibility for a Governance Administrator.

About you

With experience in a clinical trials environment you will bring to the role an in depth understanding of clinical research and trial management methodology as well as proven project management and line management skills. You must be able to demonstrate a critical and intelligent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy as well as effective communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
