About the role
Cardiovascular research has been a major strength of the Leicester Medical School since its inception. The Department of Cardiovascular Sciences' mission is to undertake bench-to-bedside research, education and training, and clinical practice that improves the health and well-being of patients and the public.
 
We have a new opportunity within the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences to work with the Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) Joint Educational Programme (JEP) to contribute to both teaching and research outputs. 
 
The teaching responsibilities of the post will include the development and delivery of a final year, undergraduate module in the general areas of  precision medicine, translational medicine or public-health associated with cardiovascular sciences. The postholder will also contribute to the development and delivery of one programme in a suite of new clinical MSc programmes similar to those above.
 
The post holder is expected to deliver high quality research in the field of cardiovascular sciences, to both interact with and enhance the strengths and research strategies of the Department. Research responsibilities will be conducted in Leicester, UK and the exploration of collaborative opportunities with CQMU will be encouraged.
 
 
About you
With a PhD in a relevant subject area, you will have a proven record of experience in higher education. You will have a clear future research plan and a commitment to high-quality teaching at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level, ensuring our students can get the best experience possible.
 
You will be expected to build and develop develop networks and collaborations across the University and CQMU, and as such you should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with senior staff, and to negotiate and influence where required.
