About the role
The Alumni Engagement Officer plays a lead role in the organisation and delivery of alumni events and communications within the Philanthropy, Alumni and Community Engagement (PACE) team.  You will devise and deliver online and in print communications and physical and virtual events in support of key activities including alumni relations, fundraising and stewardship in order to grow alumni engagement and philanthropic giving amongst the University’s 200,000 strong, global alumni community.

You will also manage the Alumni Engagement Team’s online social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn and contribute to the creation of the alumni e-newsletter, as well as preparing and sending content for event announcements where necessary and ensuring all communications for events are accurate and dispersed in a timely manner. You will also support the wider engagement team with events and communications relating to the stewardship of philanthropic donors.

You will develop, maintain and grow relationships with alumni to nurture their involvement with the University in a variety of ways including mentoring opportunities, guest lectures, alumni chapters, student recruitment and personal philanthropy.
About you
You will be an ambitious individual and have experience of leading, managing and organising a range of events including small networking receptions to large black-tie dinners and reunion events, as well as communications experience utilising communication platforms. You will be a confident communicator and influencer with the ability to build and sustain long term relationships with individual alumni, groups and University colleagues.

You will have excellent written skills and experience of creating and sending communications, as well as having good financial management skills, and ideally will have had experience of managing budgets.

You will be able to collaborate with colleagues and work with individuals, the Engagement Team and the wider PACE team, but also be confident in your abilities to work independently when necessary.
