About the role
In this role you will deliver a Reactive Maintenance Service to the wider University body. You will manage, support and motivate the team to ensure that the best possible performance is delivered. In addition you will remove barriers to endeavour to fix faults first time.

You will manage a team, allocating and prioritising work to deliver a range of services, motivating and supporting the team to meet our Service Level Agreement (SLA) for our objective of providing a Reactive Maintenance service to the University. Utilising software systems to help achieve this goal you will bring together in-house expertise from across the University to maintain buildings and services.

You will provide expert support to team members using your discretion, reviewing, planning and organising. You will assign resources based on a cost/benefit analysis to ensure each Reactive Maintenance task is successfully completed end to end with a quality first time fix and ensuring cost efficiency and effectiveness.

You will ensure regulatory compliance and legislation are achieved including financial, Health & Safety (H&S) and Data Protection. Ensure work areas are clean, tidy and safe by carrying out regular inspections. You will be accountable for ensuring the correct permits are issued to staff when requested.

About you
To join us, you will need current trade qualifications, plus either a relevant HNC qualification or a substantial level of experience in a role like this. You will need to be a team player with good communication skills and be able to, demonstrate the ability to organise your own activities and that of others to meet deadlines and achieve high quality standards and value for money. Knowledge of health and safety compliance within the construction / maintenance industry is vital. Ideally, your skills will span electrical and mechanical systems, plus knowledge of building fabric, wet trades and carpentry.
