About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the strategic communications and marketing of a new £100m+ transformational asset in Leicester.  Working on a day-day basis with the Chief Executive of Leicester Science Parks, and linking with the Chief Marketing and Engagement Officer of the University, you will develop, direct and oversee the strategic marketing and communications for Space Park Leicester.

You will be providing strategic, creative, production, brand and content project management expertise as you work with senior stakeholders to deliver the ambitious plans for Space Park. In addition, you will be responsible for setting up the process and governance regarding brand guardianship, content and editorial management and  will work closely with the External Relations Division of University of Leicester to ensure brand synergy and to maximise reputational opportunity.

Space Park Leicester is a £100m+ transformational asset for Leicester, Leicestershire and UK industrial strategy. It builds on Leicester’s impressive heritage in Space, with a Leicester-built instrument operational in space every year since 1967. The Space Park will house industry partners together with academia and students. Initially, we will focus on driving research and innovation in advanced manufacturing and data and providing the skills required as the space sector, and those industries making use of space data and technology, grow. The Space Park will be a critical part of the UK meeting its ambition to reach a £40bn market in the next decade, while locally should add 2500 new, highly productive, jobs to the workforce.

About you

You will be able to evidence of having created and promoting a brand, in addition to devising and delivering a marketing and communications strategy, from an early stage of institutional maturity. Advanced knowledge of digital marketing and emerging market approaches are key, alongside experience of planning and delivering high-profile campaigns. 

As a self-starter with a keen eye for detail, you will be ‘hands-on’, whilst also being comfortable with strategic discussions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are key, being able to use these to influence a broad range for senior stakeholders.
