About the role

Our Marketing and Communications team are seeking a new Press Officer.

Focusing upon internal communications, you will be working within our busy Media Team and delivering engaging and creative communications for staff at the University of Leicester, and telling our story to those that drive it.

Effective internal communications has never been more important - you will play a central role in keeping staff informed, included and involved in the University at a time when many are working from home.

Working with a team of external and internal communications experts who drive the University’s reputation, you will lead work to improve staff morale and engagement, and student experience.

You will also be managing and maintaining the governance and day-to-day running of the intranet, producing our weekly staff e-newsletter The Citizen and running weekly performance analysis.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will be educated to degree level, and ideally have worked in a busy communications or press office.

We are looking for someone with have excellent copy writing skills, proven experience of writing engaging communications material such as internal news stories, press releases, web content or presentations, as well as experience of conducting research and analysis, summarising findings clearly to a range of audiences.

You will be an expert in using digital communications such as Microsoft, SharePoint, CMS and other digital reporting tools.
