About the role

A highly motivated candidate is invited to join the research group led by Dr Roberto Feuda as a Research Technician. The main interest of the group is to study the evolution of developmental gene regulatory networks using a combination of developmental biology and single-cell genomics.

The successful applicant will be able to develop their set of skills under Dr Feuda’s direction and will work with single-cell genomics, FACS, fluorescence in-situ hybridisation (FISH) and using existing CRISPR tools in the lab to perform the gene perturbation in Drosophila. Though the post is mainly to assist Dr Feuda, contributions to the day-to-day running of the lab may occasionally be required.

About you

Expertise in Drosophila genetics and genomics, and eagerness to learn single cell-RNA sequencing is required. Additionally, the applicant must have organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently.
