About the role
The School of Chemistry is a vibrant, diverse and supportive unit with a strong track record in both research and teaching. Our research areas span the breadth of chemistry but our focus is on four areas: Synthesis and Catalysis; Materials; Chemical Biology; Spectroscopy and Atmospheric Chemistry. Much of our research has a strong interdisciplinary profile with collaborations across the physical and biological sciences, engineering and the social sciences.

We are looking to appoint an Associate Professor or Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry whose research will strengthen and/or complement one or more of our existing areas of research. More established applicants will considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level. Alongside your research you will fully contribute to the teaching and administration activities of the School.

About you
We are looking to appoint people with obvious enthusiasm for research and teaching and who are keen to be team players. We are renowned for our innovative and high quality teaching and believe strongly in creating a positive working environment in which students and staff can realise their potential.

The Department of Chemistry is currently the holder of an Athena SWAN Silver Award. The Department and the University are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community – a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. We strongly encourage applications from groups underrepresented within our workforce, in particular women.
