The University of Leicester is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Engagement Officer to join the Sounds of the Midlands development phase project. Led by the University and funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Sounds of the Midlands is a collaborative, multi-partner project that will digitally preserve and transform access to at-risk audio heritage collections across the English Midlands.
Working as part of a team and with project partners, you will lead the development of the delivery phase activity plan. You will develop and deliver engagement activities that inform a future delivery phase funding application, ensuring that a wide range of communities are represented and involved in the project’s development.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with partners, community groups and stakeholders, co-creating activities that highlight the value of sound heritage and broaden access to collections. This will include supporting events, outreach activities and the development of interpretive content, as well as gathering feedback and evidence to demonstrate impact and inform future planning. You will also contribute to project communications, helping to raise awareness and promote participation.
