About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Technology and AI for Accounting & Finance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery and development of undergraduate and postgraduate education, both on campus and through distance learning provision, while helping to strengthen the School’s expertise in the rapidly evolving areas of technology and artificial intelligence within accounting and finance. The postholder will undertake teaching, scholarship, administration and related activities that support the work and reputation of the School.

You will teach accounting and finance modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise student dissertations, contribute to curriculum development and support the design of new programmes and academic initiatives. Alongside delivering an excellent student experience, you will engage in scholarly activity, contribute to publications and external engagement opportunities, participate in School and University committees, and support enterprise and knowledge exchange activities. There will also be opportunities to provide leadership within your area of expertise and mentor colleagues.

About you

You will bring recognised expertise in accounting and finance technology and AI, together with recent experience of delivering accounting and finance modules. You will have experience of using technology and AI in accounting and finance, and will hold a completed PhD and/or membership of an appropriate professional body such as ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA or CIMA. Experience of postgraduate dissertation supervision, Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, practical experience in industry or the accounting profession, and familiarity with distance learning provision would be advantageous.

You will be able to contribute to high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, support students through effective mentoring and advising, and develop scholarship that can be shared through internationally recognised outputs. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong IT competency, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, you will be well placed to help students develop the technical, analytical and professional skills needed for accounting and finance careers.
