About the role

The University of Leicester is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to join Digital Services at an exciting time of transformation and strategic investment.

This role will lead the delivery of complex, high-impact projects that support the University’s Digital Strategy and institutional ambitions. Working across academic and professional service areas, you will manage initiatives ranging from technology implementation and service redesign to business change and process improvement.

You will provide strong leadership across the full project lifecycle, ensuring effective governance, stakeholder engagement, planning, risk management, and successful delivery of outcomes that benefit staff, students, and the wider institution. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of delivering complex projects in large organisations, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate confidently in fast-paced and changing environments.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-looking team, helping shape the future of digital services within a leading university.

About you

You will be a confident and credible project professional with substantial experience of delivering complex change and digital projects. You will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve results.

You will combine strong delivery discipline with excellent communication and influencing skills, enabling you to build trust, navigate ambiguity, and maintain momentum across challenging programmes of work.

You will bring experience in governance, planning, risk management, supplier coordination, and change delivery, alongside a practical and outcomes-focused approach.

Experience within higher education or another complex environment would be advantageous, but most important is your ability to lead delivery, solve problems, and make a positive impact.
