As a Research Associate within the Centre of Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences, you will play an important part in advancing high‑quality research that supports the work of the research team led by Prof Sally Singh. Based in the Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit at Glenfield Hospital, you will contribute to a programme of work focused on exercise, rehabilitation and multiple long‑term conditions. You will take responsibility for leading the collection, evaluation and interpretation of research data, working both autonomously and collaboratively to achieve project milestones. Your work will contribute to the wider goals of the programme, and you will disseminate research findings to national and international audiences, helping to raise the profile of the School and the University.
You will also play an active role in developing your own research trajectory by extending existing areas of investigation or contributing to broader team‑based research initiatives. This includes identifying opportunities for project grants and fellowships, supporting research bids, and engaging in impact‑focused activities. You will work closely with colleagues, clinical partners, collaborators and research participants, including NHS patients, ensuring that the research programme maintains strong links with its wider community. As part of your role, you will also provide guidance to students and colleagues, contribute to workshops and events, and uphold the University’s values of inclusivity, inspiration and impact.
