About the role

Join our team at the University of Leicester as a Post-Doctoral Researcher. You will work on an important project aiming to improve early diagnosis of retinoblastoma, a childhood eye cancer, using advanced imaging and data analysis.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and apply AI tools to analyse eye images
  • Work with hospitals across the UK to collect and study patient data
  • Help create new methods to detect and understand this disease
  • Travel to different medical centres as needed

About you

We're looking for someone with:

  • A PhD (or nearly completed) in bioinformatics, computational biology, or similar field
  • Experience analysing medical images and working with data
  • Strong programming skills in R or Python
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

Ideally, you would also have:

  • Experience with AI and machine learning for medical images
  • Experience working with data from multiple hospitals
  • An interest in rare disease research.
