About the role

We are seeking a Research Associate to our School of Management and contribute to the NIHR-funded HERITAGE study (Health Effects fRom Infection sequelae: Tailoring services and Advancing GuidancE, 2025–2028). This role will focus on delivering a programme of mainly qualitative research and facilitating a Quality Improvement Collaborative. You will work independently and collaboratively with clinicians, patients, and public partners to achieve defined milestones and produce high-quality research outputs. This post offers opportunities to engage with internal and external stakeholders across disciplines.

You will lead on data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings, contributing to journal articles, technical papers, and future research bids. You will represent the research team at national and international conferences and play an active role in mentoring early career researchers and students. The role also involves contributing to the broader research programme through innovative methodologies and interdisciplinary collaboration.

About you

You will hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and demonstrate expertise in qualitative research, including conducting interviews and analysing data. Experience in healthcare management, medical research, or studies of health and illness is essential, alongside a strong understanding of the NHS context and UK health policy. You will be a confident communicator, capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to continuous professional development.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about impactful research and committed to the University’s values of inclusivity, inspiration, and change. You will be encouraged to build networks, contribute to knowledge exchange, and support university-wide activities.
