About the role

Are you a creative communicator with a passion for digital content? We’re looking for a Content Officer to join our Digital Engagement Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll play a pivotal role in transforming our web presence as we transition to a new cloud-managed, headless content management system (CMS). From content review and migration to crafting engaging content that supports student recruitment, research and University reputation, your work will shape how audiences experience le.ac.uk.

You’ll collaborate across departments, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with University priorities. With strong writing skills and a flair for digital storytelling, you’ll help embed new editorial workflows and support a network of editors.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a strategic digital transformation project and make a lasting impact.

About you

You’re a confident and creative communicator with a flair for crafting compelling digital content. With experience in web writing, SEO, and accessibility standards, you understand how to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and platforms. You’re comfortable working independently, managing your own workload, and responding flexibly to changing priorities. You bring a keen eye for detail, strong proofreading skills, and a collaborative mindset that thrives in cross-functional teams.

You’ll have experience using content management systems and be excited by the opportunity to support a major CMS transition. You’re proactive in learning new tools and workflows, and you’re passionate about improving user experience through well-structured, accurate, and engaging content. Whether supporting student recruitment, promoting research, or enhancing editorial standards, you’re driven by impact and innovation.

If you’re ready to help shape the future of digital engagement at the University of Leicester, we’d love to hear from you.
