About the role

We are seeking a Research Assistant to join the School of Healthcare and contribute to the Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet), an internationally recognised programme monitoring paediatric critical care across the UK and Republic of Ireland. In this role you will support data collection and analysis on staffing levels within paediatric intensive care units, helping to ensure the delivery of accurate, high-quality information.

You will work closely with colleagues at the University of Leicester and the University of Leeds, contributing to research outputs such as reports and co-authored publications, and supporting communication with healthcare partners. Your work will play an important role in shaping the future of paediatric intensive care research and ensuring the continued success of PICANet.

About you

You will hold a good honours degree or have equivalent experience, with the ability to manage research projects effectively and deliver results to deadline. Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential, along with enthusiasm for the subject area and a collaborative approach to working within a research team.

A Master’s qualification and experience using Stata for analysis would be desirable but are not essential. More important is your research potential, your willingness to engage with stakeholders, and your commitment to delivering high-quality work that contributes to real-world impact.

Additional information

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Dr Sarah Seaton on [email protected]

As part of the University’s ongoing commitment to professional development, this role will also be considered on a seconded basis for existing staff members. Please ensure this is discussed with your line manager prior to applying. More information regarding secondments can be found here
