The Diabetes Research Centre and NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre are looking to recruit a talented, motivated research assistant to join an established, successful research team and contribute to a programme of work led by Prof Pratik Choudhary around type 1 diabetes and technology.
The appointed individual will have the opportunity to contribute to the real-world evidence for decisions in diabetes (REDDIE) project, as well as projects with focus on the analysis of CGM and physical activity data. There are also opportunities to contribute to a diverse range of ongoing project in type 1 diabetes and technology.
We welcome applications from individuals with various backgrounds/expertise relevant to the topic area (e.g. medical statistics, biostatistics, data science)), and enthusiasm for the topic will be expected, along with the ability and willingness to both learn and synthesise evidence and work with colleagues from various subject areas. Experience in longitudinal data analysis and a basic knowledge of causal inference would be an advantage. Training and support in new areas will be provided.
The appointed individual will be based at the Leicester Diabetes Centre (Leicester General Hospital), which is internationally recognised for its research in the prevention and management of diabetes and other long-term conditions, and also hosts the prestigious NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) East Midlands, the NIHR Patient Recruitment Centre: Leicester, and the Centre for Ethnic Health Research.
