The post holder will support the continuing delivery of the established contract between the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation (CEOI) partners and the UK Space Agency, in particular the award of grant funding to UK academic and industrial teams to develop the next generation of Earth Observation technologies. This role ensures the contractual integrity of all grants awarded by UKSA through Leicester and the post holder will have specific responsibility for administration of CEOI grants.
For the majority of the role, you will be involved in initiating (after authorisation by UKSA), managing and tracking a portfolio of new and existing grants, following a procedure with our commercial contracts and post-award finance teams. This includes processing of invoices from Grant recipients and the CEOI partners, and liaising with the University finance department to ensure prompt settlement. Grants are awarded through a series of calls and you will be involved in preparing and sending out call information as well as co-ordinating reviews of the proposals under the guidance of the Director. Calls are issued on average once a year, but there may be additional calls at other times.
The role also includes providing support to other CEOI activities, such as the development of the CEOI website, operating the CEOI twitter account and supporting organisation of CEOI workshops and conferences, as time allows. Based at Leicester’s main campus, you will report to both the CEOI Director (based at Airbus) and the Head of the College of Science and Engineering.
