We are looking for a dedicated Research Assistant to join the Department of Genetics, Genomics and Cancer Sciences at the University of Leicester. This full-time, fixed-term position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in Cancer Precision Medicine, focusing on liquid biopsy-based biomarkers and multi-omics approaches in breast cancer. You will be part of a dynamic team at the Leicester Cancer Research Centre, working on projects involving microfluidic-based enrichment of circulating tumour cells (CTCs), genomic analysis of extracellular vesicles (EVs), and cell-free DNA (cfDNA) methylation signatures.
Your role will involve the coordination between clinical and research teams, ensuring smooth sample collection and processing. You will also support hands-on laboratory research, including cell culture, and application of molecular biology techniques such as NGS library preparation, qPCR, and ddPCR. As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, you will have the opportunity to participate in lab meetings, workshops, and conferences, contributing to the dissemination of impactful research findings.
