About the role

We are looking for an excellent communicator to join our award-winning Internal Communications Team, which looks after staff and student communications for the University.

The Internal Communications Support Officer is a critical role within the Internal Communications team as it leads on the creation of the all-staff e-newsletter, the Citizen, which is used to share university updates, successes and CTAs with all staff across the University. The role identifies and crafts stories for inclusion within the e-newsletter, as well as building the newsletter and distributing it.

This role also supports a number of crucial University-wide projects, including the quarterly Executive Board Live all-staff event and provides communications support to a wide variety of projects, including EDI activities, Estates and Campus Services updates and the staff intranet.

In addition, this role is flexible and reactive, supporting with ad hoc requests, provides video and photography support to events, and will be instrumental in delivering a project to better govern Viva Engage – the staff social media platform.

About you

You will be a passionate communicator with excellent written and digital communication skills. You will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to tailor your messages for different audiences. A creative thinker, the ideal candidate will have previous experience in a communications role with good project management skills, the ability to work flexibly and adapt to juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines, and be confident in building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
