About the role

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Projects Delivery Engineer to join our Estates Team. The role will involve the management and overseeing of electrical and mechanical installations projects across the University campus. In the critical role you will act as key liaison between the Principal Contractor and mechanical and electrical subcontractors in the assessment of quality of installation and design compliance. The candidate will also need to work with design consultants to arrive at pragmatic and viable design solutions in the event of issues arising on site or through the contractor design portion stage of the project. You will work with other members of the project team delivery team and the asset management team to integrate them into the process at the key stages of the construction and commissioning process to ensure the success delivery of a scheme and to a high quality.  The role will involve working on a varied portfolio of projects across the campus largely including refurbishments and adaptions. With the University having a number of infrastructure and engineering led buildings the importance of assessing the quality of mechanical and electrical installations as they are installed is critical to the success of any project and the successful candidate will be at the heart of this.

About you

With significant experience track record in the delivery and oversight of mechanical and electrical projects, you will have a detailed understanding of the assessment of mechanical and/or electrical assets and be able to demonstrate robust reporting techniques and a tenacious approach to resolving any issues arising on site.  You will hold a detailed understanding of consultant/contractor design drawings and applying this knowledge when reviewing the quality of installation.

You will be able to evidence knowledge of the construction process, project procedures and have a demonstrable understanding of relevant legislation and its impact on the University sector including British Standards, Building Regulations and Health and Safety. Most importantly, you will be self-motivated, communicative and focused on achieving results.
