About the role
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the Diabetes Research Centre at the University of Leicester. As a Research Administrator, you will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of innovative research studies focusing on diabetes and long-term health conditions. You will work closely with the trial delivery team, which oversees the set-up, recruitment, and management of a range of studies, including prestigious national and international trials.

Your role will involve providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of research projects. Key responsibilities will include managing diaries, coordinating training events and meetings, maintaining databases, and pre-screening participants for clinical studies. Additionally, you will assist with financial administration and ensure that all documentation complies with regulatory and ethical standards. Based at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to research that has a real-world impact on health outcomes.
About you
To excel in this role, you will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment. You will have experience in administrative roles, ideally within a research or healthcare setting, and demonstrate proficiency in standard software packages such as Microsoft Office. Familiarity with GDPR regulations and database management is essential, while shorthand or speedwriting qualifications and experience in clinical research are desirable.

You should be approachable, efficient, and empathetic, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service to colleagues, researchers, and study participants. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team is crucial, as is the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
