We are excited to offer a new Lectureship in Clinical Psychology within the School of Psychology and Vision Sciences. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving academic environment and contribute to the training of future clinical psychologists.
Candidates should have a background in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field and be able to contribute to teaching and doctoral research supervision on our Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy). Our DClinPsy programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society and is dedicated to providing rigorous, evidence-based training in clinical psychology. The programme has a strong emphasis on enhancing psychological wellbeing, promoting inclusivity, and addressing inequalities in mental health services.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute effectively to postgraduate teaching in Clinical Psychology, including delivering high-quality lectures and workshops, supervising doctoral-level research, and working collaboratively with academic colleagues and external clinical partners. We particularly welcome applicants with expertise in working across diverse healthcare settings and supporting a broad range of clinical needs.
This is a teaching-focused position with opportunities to engage in research and scholarly activities related to clinical psychology, mental health interventions, or applied psychology. The postholder will be part of a supportive and inclusive team, contributing to the ongoing development of our training programme and championing equity, inclusion, and excellence in clinical psychology education.
We welcome applications from practitioner psychologists, academics with a clinical background, or early-career researchers with relevant expertise. We also welcome applications from candidates with interests in ethnic health, reflecting Leicester’s position as one of the UK’s most ethnically diverse cities.
