About the role
As a key member of the School, you will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a particular focus on distance learning. You will design, develop, and deliver high-quality digital learning materials, as well as engage students through lectures, seminars, and discussion boards. Your responsibilities will include setting assignments, exams, and providing supervision for dissertations and projects.

In addition to teaching, you will have the opportunity to contribute to scholarship in the field of Human Resource Management. Your expertise will help shape the curriculum, ensuring it remains at the forefront of research-led teaching. You will also engage with external stakeholders in business, policymaking, and other sectors, helping the School to maximise its impact on societal and economic wellbeing. There are also opportunities to contribute to the internationalisation of the curriculum and to support innovation in teaching and assessment practices.

We are looking for someone with particular expertise in Human Resource Management, Organisational behaviour, Change Management, Employment Relations or People Analytics. This is a teaching focussed role through which you will join a community of experienced teachers and interdisciplinary researchers.
About you
With a PhD (completed or near completion) or with equivalent relevant experience in Human Resource Management or a related field you will be a recognised expert in this area. You will have experience in designing and delivering teaching to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including distance learning modules. A commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching, as well as the ability to engage students through a range of delivery methods, is essential. You should also be willing to seek external recognition for your teaching, such as Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), if not already obtained.

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team is important, as is the capacity to manage and organise your own workload effectively. A proven ability to supervise postgraduate research students and a record of publications in leading journals are desirable, as is experience of engaging with industry and other external stakeholders. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or a willingness to obtain this qualification would be an advantage.
