About the role

We are seeking an organised and motivated Admissions Assistant to join the Leicester Medical School. This full-time position plays a key role in supporting the admissions process for our MB ChB programmes. As an Admissions Assistant, you will be responsible for assessing applications promptly and efficiently, ensuring that offers are made to suitable candidates in line with our entry criteria. You will also be involved in responding to enquiries from applicants, academic staff, and prospective students, helping them to make informed decisions about their applications.

Your duties will include processing UCAS applications, updating databases, and generating statistics as required. You will be responsible for understanding the range of UK and international qualifications presented by applicants, ensuring accurate and timely processing of admissions data. Additionally, you will provide administrative support during applicant interviews, Open Days, and for DBS checks. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the recruitment of the next generation of medical professionals at Leicester.

About you

You should have clerical experience in a busy environment, ideally within the higher education sector. You will need to be educated to A Level standard or equivalent, with strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential, as you will be responsible for managing a varied workload, often under pressure, while ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the admissions process.

A flexible and adaptable approach to work is crucial, as well as the ability to quickly develop and maintain expert knowledge in admissions processes. Experience in higher education admissions and knowledge of data protection requirements would be an advantage. If you are passionate about delivering excellent customer service and working as part of a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding role at the University of Leicester.
