About the role

As the Duty Manager for Marketing and Communications at the University of Leicester, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our university's presence and reputation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead day-to-day operations within our vibrant team, ensuring the seamless execution of our marketing strategies and communications initiatives.

You will be responsible for overseeing a variety of tasks, from developing compelling content for our digital platforms to supporting events and market research that showcase our achievements. Your analytical skills will be vital in assessing the effectiveness of our campaigns, allowing us to continually refine our approach and maximise our impact.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role, as you will work closely with colleagues across various departments to ensure that our messaging aligns with the university’s values and objectives. About you

You are an organised and creative professional with a passion for promoting higher education. Your experience in coordinating marketing materials will enable you to effectively showcase the University’s accommodation, conference centre, and hotel offerings. You have a keen eye for detail and a knack for producing high-quality brochures, price lists, maps, and multimedia content that resonate with prospective students and visitors.

Your strong communication skills allow you to support the arrivals process into accommodation, ensuring that students receive timely and relevant information through well-crafted Residence Guides, welcome materials, signage, and more. You are adept at working collaboratively with teams across the Division, providing essential communications support to help disseminate messages in both electronic and hard copy formats.

You have a solid understanding of market research practices and are comfortable disseminating surveys and analysing findings to inform strategic decisions. Your ability to represent the Division at events, such as Open Days and staff inductions, demonstrates your confidence and commitment to promoting the University’s initiatives.

You are skilled in producing engaging internal communications materials, such as newsletters and items for communications boards, to keep staff informed and connected. Your digital expertise will be invaluable in enhancing the Division’s online presence, utilising platforms like the University website, accommodation portal, Browzer, TV screens, and social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram.

Your proactive approach will also support the development of the capital programme, as you assist in creating impactful marketing and communication materials that align with the University’s strategic objectives.
