About the role

The Prototype Laboratory in the School of Physics and Astronomy is used by both research staff and students to undertake research and build space instrumentation, specifically focused on camera systems. This role will aid in the leading of the project management of the University of Leicester’s contribution to the space instrumentation breadboarding and design as part of the UKSA bilaterally funded project. The post holder will provide organizational support to staff and industry partners working within the Prototype Laboratory. This will include aiding in the generation of financial and technical documentation, developing and monitoring the action tracker, and interacting with external partners.

About you
With a technical and management background, specifically within the research area of the development of instrumentation for space missions, you will have experience of working within a laboratory or workshop setting and experience of managing a project.  Specific training will be provided where necessary, either via shadowing or dedicated training courses.
