About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Programme Administrator to join our School of Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Leicester. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth running of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. As a key member of the professional services team, you will provide excellent administrative support across the student lifecycle, from admissions to graduation.

Your responsibilities will include managing and improving administrative activities such as timetabling, assessment coordination, and monitoring student progression. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate student records, supporting the School’s Virtual Learning Environment, and ensuring compliance with university regulations and procedures. Additionally, you will contribute to the quality assurance and monitoring processes, assisting with curriculum planning and module evaluations.

This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, the ability to work independently, and excellent organisational skills. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes and participate in School planning activities.

About you

You should be educated to A level standard or possess substantial relevant work experience in a similar setting. Experience managing complex record systems and the ability to use initiative and judgement to resolve issues are essential. You should have a strong understanding of data protection and be able to handle confidential information sensitively.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a high level of IT competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. You should have a proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service, work effectively as part of a team, and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

Experience in supporting a digital learning environment, familiarity with relevant university systems such as SAP or SITS, and an understanding of the Higher Education sector would be advantageous. If you are a self-motivated individual with a flexible approach to work and a commitment to delivering excellent administrative support, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity at the University of Leicester.
