About the role

In this role you will work within the Diabetes Research Centre, to provide research support and co-ordination of the day-to-day running of the NIHR ARC-EM funded studies and other relevant projects. You will also assist the wider research group with the current programme of research being conducted, by undertaking independent research under guidance, direction and supervision, and undertaking clearly defined research tasks according to agreed protocols. 

Responsibilities of the role will include: supporting the Applied Research Collaboration East Midlands research team in the acquisition, evaluation and /or interpretation of data and other specialised information; carrying out analyses, tests and critical evaluations using agreed techniques, novel approaches and/or models such as systematic reviews of quantitative and qualitative evidence; preparing and undertaking high-quality data analysis and tests using appropriate techniques and novel approaches and summarising those findings, recording, and disseminating where appropriate to members of the research group.

About you
To be considered for the role as a Research Assistant you will have completed a first degree in a relevant subject and have experience of conducting research in an applied health or social care setting. You will have excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills. You will also need to have the ability to work both independently and as part of a research team, to complete research aims to agreed timeframes.
