About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to work as a Research Associate within the vibrant research environment of the School of Healthcare, University of Leicester while also benefiting from working with the research team at the LOROS Hospice Centre for Excellence. 

The project aims to provide a robust evidence base to optimise care pathways and outcomes for family carers of people living with Motor Neurone Disease. This research is important as family carers often undertake managerial care helping the person access and communicate with health and social care professionals and seeking help when unexpected symptom occur. They report their ‘expert’ understanding their relative or friend’s needs is not fully considered, and their own needs are rarely assessed.

About you

We are looking for someone who can bring their strong communication, project management and qualitative research skills to our team. You will be working with a small group of highly-experienced researchers, and there will be opportunities for developing enhanced qualitative research skills in realist approaches and ethnography, alongside developing detailed understanding of applied health and social care research.
